Ottumwa outlasts Dubuque Hempstead

In the Class 4-A nightcap, Ottumwa beat Dubuque Hempstead seven-to-six in eight innings. Ottumwa coach Ryan Woods said they had to get their offense cranked up after relying mainly on pitching and defense.Ottumwa scored the winning run on a wild pitch.In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded and two outs, Tanner Varner was at third and scored the winning run.
