Eastern Iowa Red Cross supports troops

Another “Operation: Support Our Troops” program is being launched in eastern Iowa by the Grant Wood chapter of the American Red Cross. Spokeswoman Renee Uecker is helping organize the effort to send a little cheer to U-S troops who’re serving overseas.Uecker says they ask businesses to act as a drop off location for videos playing cards and other items.The program is underway in: Delaware, Linn, Johnson, Jones, Iowa and Benton counties. For more information on how to donate items, contact your nearest Red Cross office.
