Child suffocates in grain bin

A 7-year-old Amish boy has died in a grain bin accident on the family farm near Oelwein. Shortly after 11:00 a.m. yesterday, rescue workers were called to the Dan Beachy farm between Hazelton and Fairbank. Seven-year-oldJoseph Beachy was trapped in an overhead grain bin. The boy was pulled out. Authorities tried to resuscitate him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. He suffocated under the weight of the grain.
