UNI ready for tough opener

The 14th ranked Northern Iowa volleyball team has a difficult task in Friday afternoon’s season opener. The Panthers will take on top-ranked and defending national champion Stanford in the opening round of the State Farm Classic in Minneapolis. U-N-I senior Miranda Weber who says the Panthers need to avoid being awestruck by Stanford.Fellow senior Jill Arganbright was asked if playing Stanford in the opener is an advantage. She says both teams are probably going to start out not at their best, but she says it is a motivator. Junior Michelle Burvee says this is a big opportunity for the Panthers. UNI made it to the “Sweet 16” of last year’s tournament.
