Cedar Falls ranks high in football preseason

The Sporting News has ranked Cedar Falls 22nd in its Midwest pre-season high school football ratings. Coach Pat Mitchell’s team returns 16-starters, including future Iowa defensive back Jonathan Zanders from last year’s squad that advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 4A playoffs. He says the players know there are high expectations and he says it’s better than going into the season with no one knowing if you’re living or dead.
