The grand re-opening of the chapel wing of the old All Saints Catholic Church was held Saturday in Stuart. Project Restore is working to restore the historic landmark with contributions from around the world. The wing’s opening marks the end of the first phase of the project. Dick Doherty, of Project Restore, says money is still needed for the next phase. The total cost for restoration will be five million dollars. The church was burned down seven years ago by an arsonist in what’s considered the most expensive arson fire in Iowa history.
