ISU ready for KU Saturday

August 28, 2002 By admin

The Iowa State Cyclones open the Big-12 race at home against Kansas. The Jayhawks have the advantage of watching Iowa’s State’s game against Florida State, while Cyclone coach Dan McCarney says he doesn’t know what to expect from Kansas, which has a whole new coaching staff.McCarney says the Jayhawks have talent, as they’re the same team that led some of the best teams in the conference last year before losing. The Cyclones were a three-touchdown underdog last week and are favored by three touchdowns this week. McCarney says that is never used as motivation, as he says he didn’t mention it last week and won’t this week. He says he just wants the team to improve. McCarney and the Cyclones are hoping for a big crowd for Saturday’s game, as he says if the fans don’t come out now, they may never come out.
