Fire hits Decorah business

A paint store in downtown Decorah was heavily damaged by fire this morning. Fire crews from Decorah, Calmar, Frankville, Ossian and Cresco were called in just after four o’clock this morning to fight the fire at the Sherwin-Williams store. Firefighters have the fire under control, but some remain on the scene to douse hot spots. There was considerable damage to the business, an upstairs apartment, and some damage to nearby businesses.No one was injured. The state fire marshal’s been called to investigate the cause.
