ISU to play first game under lights

The Iowa State Cyclones return to action by hosting Tennessee Tech under the lights. Iowa State is 1-1 following a lopsided Big-12 victory over Kansas and coach Dan McCarney wants the Cyclones to maintain the momentum. He says they’ll do all they can to improve and keep the accelerator down.McCarney says Tennessee Tech will view this game as an opportunity to make a statement and make up for a poor start in their season opening loss.McCarney says the Tech passing game, led by Robert Kraft, is their main concern. The Cyclones opened Big 12 play with a lopsided win over Kansas. McCarney does not sense a letdown from his players.McCarney has been pleased with the play of the defense to this point but he says there remains plenty of room for improvement. He says they have to stay healthy and build depth. McCarney says the defense has still not recovered a fumble or scored, and they need to work on that.
