UNI ranked second

September 4, 2002 By admin

The Northern Iowa Panthers are ranked second in the latest Sports Network one-double-a top 25. The Panthers opened the season last week with a victory over Wayne State of Michigan and will visit Oklahoma State on Saturday. U-N-I coach Mark Farley says he looks at the high ranking in two ways. As an alumni, he feels good about the ranking and the exposure it gives the school, but as a coach he wants to be at the same level at the end of the season. .Farley says the ranking won’t put added pressure on the Panthers this week because they will be such a big underdog at Oklahoma State. He says it’s stress enough to be playing a Big 12 school.
