Drake looks to build on first victory

September 18, 2002 By admin

Drake returns home this Saturday to take on Wisconsin-LaCrosse. The Bulldogs scored a touchdown in the waning seconds to post a 28-25 win at Missouri-Rolla last weekend for their first victory of the season.Drake coach Rob Ash says his team is proud it was able to come back and get the win. He says, considering the tough schedule to open the season, a 1-2 record at this point is not all bad. Ash says they’re looking at the team to see if it’s getting tougher, and he believes it is.Ash says a number of injuries on defense are a major concern. He says the defensive line is in a shambles with injuries to several key performers.
