Class 4A features battle of #1 and #5

October 5, 2002 By admin

A high school showdown tonight in 4A features top-ranked Cedar Falls at fifth-rated Cedar Rapids Washington. The turf at Kingston Stadium could be wet and Cedar Falls coach Pat Mitchell was asked how it might affect the game. He says Washington has a good quarterback and good speed, and a wet muddy field could hamper that speed. Mitchell is concerned it could also neutralize the Tigers team speed, as he says the defense runs to the ball well.
