Iowa State enters their game this week with Texas Tech having rested up after a week off. Cyclone coach Dan McCarney hopes the week without a game doesn’t hurt their momentum following the big win two weeks ago against Nebraska. He says teams react differently to off weeks, some come out sluggish in the next game, while others come out strong. He hopes his team is the later.McCarney says the game against the Red Raiders begins what’s going to be a difficult stretch for his team, as the next seven games are against teams that were in bowl games last year. The driving force behind Texas Tech is their quarterback, Kliff Kingsbury. McCarney says Kingsbury is one of the best quarterbacks he’s seen as a coach.Playing the game at Jack Trice Stadium is one advantage for the Cyclones, and McCarney is hoping for another, what he calls “Cyclone Weather” to slow the Red Raiders air attack.ISU enters the game at 5-1 and 2-0 in the Big Twelve while Texas Tech is 4-2 and 1-0 in the conference.
