Woman found dead in Des Moines

November 14, 2002 By admin

Investigation continues into the death of a woman found in Des Moines Wednesday. Police will hold a news conference and already have information and a picture ready to identify the person they think was found dead by a crew doing survey work for a power company. But they’ll have an autopsy done and likely confirm with dental records the identity of a woman whose decomposed remains were found on the capital city’s north side. Officers say they’re treating the death as a suspicious one. Though this body was found inside city limits, it wasn’t far from a homeless encampment outside Des Moines’ north boundary where a homeless woman was killed by another drifter several months ago.
