Loyal Hawkeye football fans are changing travel plans from the west coast to the far southeast. Instead of California’s Rose Bowl matchup, Iowa will face U-S-C in the Orange Bowl in Florida on January 2nd. Chris Bavolack, vice president of the University of Iowa Alumni Association, says his office is buzzing today as people switch gears for Miami. He says all those who signed up for the Rose Bowl can switch over, and he says they’ve had a lot of new interest from people who hadn’t signed up before.Bavolack says a variety of packages are being offered for Hawk fans. There are packages that include airfare, hotel and game tickets and others are being offered that are land-only packages.Iowa State University has accepted a bowl bit too — the Cyclones will meet Boise State in the Humanitarian bowl in Idaho December 31st.
