Water officials talk economic development

Two officials from rural water systems conducted a seminar today on economic development.Randy Pleima of Mahaska Rural Water Association says systems like his are a vital part of Iowa.There are 20 rural water systems in Iowa, serving 76-thousand individual taps. About 230 small communities get their water from a rural water association Pleima was joined at the seminar by the economic development director for the Rathbun Rural Water Association.Pleima shared ideas for attracting new business to rural Iowa at the session organized by state officials and the Iowa Rural Development Council.
