UNI women look for home wins

The Northern Iowa women’s basketball team begins a three game homestand tonight as they host Illinois State at the West Gym. The Panthers are 5-6 on the season and 0-2 in the Missouri ValleyConference after losing a pair of games last week. Northern Iowa head coach Tony DiCecco, feels tonight’s game begins a critical stretch in the conference for the Panthers. He says going into the conference he felt the third through 10th teams would be a toss up.Illinois State is 2-8 on the year and has lost its only Valley game. DiCecco says the scouting report on the Redbirds shows they’ll try to push the ball and attack the glass on both ends.
