Nominations sought for Iowa Heritage Legacy Awards

The deadline is next week for the Iowa Heritage Legacy Awards. There are three awards — one each to an individual, a youth and to a business — for highlighting the arts, culture and contributions to African-Americans in Iowa. Betty Andrews is executive director of the sponsor, called I’ll Make Me A World in Iowa. Andrews says the awards offer statewide recognition for Iowans whose creativity, business and/or civic activities have helped made the state a better place to live.The deadline is Monday, January 20th, and the awards ceremony is the following Friday.
