Possible hit and run leaves two dead in Omaha

January 20, 2003 By admin

Authorities in western Iowa and eastern Nebraska are looking into a double-death in Omaha. The bodies of a woman and an infant were found along Interstate 680 in north Omaha this morning, a short distance from the Iowa border. Investigators say the deaths appear to have been the result of a hit-and-run. A wrecked car was found nearby that’d gone off the interstate and hit a guardrail. The car was empty. Police speculate the woman was driving the car that crashed, took the baby and hiked back to the interstate to get help — and both were fatally run down by another vehicle. Authorities haven’t yet said where the car was from, nor have they identified the woman.
