Iowa suffers second straight Big Ten loss

January 27, 2003 By admin

Any hope the Iowa Hawkeyes had of joining the nation’s top 25 faded with back-to-back losses last week, the most recent an 82-73 loss at home to Ohio State. Senior guard Chauncey Leslie had 25-points and said a slow start offensively proved costly. He says they didn’t attack the gaps in the zone. Iowa yielded 55-second half points and coach Steve Alford says that is a concern. He says it’s two games in a row when they don’t get the stops they need in the second half. He calls it a “toughness issue” that they need to work on in practice.
