Two charged with faking robbery in Hull

February 1, 2003 By admin

Two 16-year-old boys from Hull are under arrest, charged with faking a convenience store robbery in their hometown. One of the boys, who was employed at the store, called 9-1-1 on January 23rd and said a Hispanic man had shot him and taken all the cash in the register. A deputy arrived on the scene and found the boy behind the counter. A second boy walked in the store and said he’d been shot, too. Authorities found the Hispanic men the two named as suspects all had alibis, and they determined the pair shot themselves in the shoulders in an attempt to fake an armed robbery. The father of one of the boys has been charged with making a revolver and ammunition available to a minor because his gun was used in the caper.
