McCarney signs 26 recruits

February 6, 2003 By admin

Iowa State coach Dan McCarney signed a class of 26-players, all but one from the high school ranks. He says the class probably won’t be ranked highly because half the players are from Iowa and they face a constant problem of getting national respect. McCarney says though that all of the Iowa players can play. McCarney says he knows more about the state of Iowa than any college recruiting analyst and says this is a great bunch of kids. McCarney says the recent success of the program has helped on the recruiting trail. He says they don’t sell skyscrapers or beaches, they sell the great people at Iowa State. He says they try to make sure their first impression is a good one.
