The Drake women are at home tonight in Missouri Valley Conference action to take on Wichita State. Drake is 5-4 in the Valley and coach Lisa Stone is looking for a strong start to the second half of the conference race. Drake’s point guard was declared academically ineligible, and Stone says she’s handling the loss by having “point guard by committee.” Wichita has lost three straight games but won the first matchup with the Bulldogs, and Stone says the Bulldogs will need to do a better job on the boards this time around. The Shockers are also 5-4 on the season and along with Drake and U-N-I are tied for fourth in the league race. Wichita State coach Darryl Smith says the league race is still wide open, and anyone could win the title. The Shockers’ three consecutive losses have all come at home.
