Expect cold hands and warm hearts on Valentine’s Day, as weather forecasters have posted a Winter Storm Watch for tomorrow and tomorrow night for much of Iowa. Snow accumulation is expected to range from two to five inches. Meteorologist Miles Schumacher, at the National Weather Service, says the large storm system is headed our way over the Southern Rockies with lots of warm air and moisture.Schumacher says the dividing line for snow versus freezing rain is expected to be in north-central Iowa, somewhere around Highway 20.Tomorrow’s forecast calls for widespread rain across southwest Iowa and freezing rain or sleet in the southeast, central and into the northwest regions. There’s a chance of snow northeast. Highs are expected from the middle-20s northeast to the mid-30s south. Tomorrow night, there’s a chance of snow north, snow likely south, mixed with sleet far south, and lows in the teens and 20s.
