ISU guard wins league honors

Iowa State guard Tim Barnes has been named the “Big-12 Rookie of the Week.” Barnes averaged 15-points in two games last week, including a season high 23 in the Cyclones come from behind win against Kansas State. I-S-U coach Larry Eustachy says Barnes has regained his confidence after a rough start to the Big-12 race. Eustachy says Barnes was in over his head in the quality of players he faced early in the schedule, which he says was a shock for Barnes. Eustachy says Barnes lost confidence early, but has regained it with some success. The Cyclones host Colorado tonight.
