Time running out to sign up for CD settlement

Today’s the last day you can apply for a refund in a nationwide music settlement. Several states, including Iowa, took part in the antitrust lawsuit that accused music companies and major retailers of conspiring to limit how cheaply they’d sell popular music. The settlement lets anyone who bought recorded music, on C-D, cassette or album, between 1995 and 2000 file a claim. Bob Brammer, at the Iowa Attorney General’s office says at least 75-thousand Iowans have applied for the refunds.Brammer says each person one should get a check for about 15-dollars, though it may take a while before they arrive in the mailbox.
