Davenport approves new amusement park

March 21, 2003 By admin

With the arrival of spring, a new amusement park will soon blossom in eastern Iowa. The Davenport city council has approved plans for what’ll be called Thunder Ridge Adventure Park, to be located on the city’s northeast side. It’s a five-million dollar development and construction is to begin right away. City leaders say the first phase of the park should be open by June first. It’ll include three go-kart tracks, a pair of championship-level miniature golf courses, a man-made lake for bumper boats and picnic area. Later in the summer, the park will also open a 12-thousand square-foot building that’ll be home to a video game arcade, a restaurant, miniature bowling and rooms for private parties and meetings.
