The Iowa Hawkeyes open the Big Ten baseball race today at home with the start of a four game series with Michigan. The Hawkeyes are 6-6 on the season and coach Scott Broghammer says the Wolverines will provide a difficult test with their new coach. He says they’re always a tough team to play and he says ever game in the conference is important.Iowa’s pitching staff has performed well but will be tested by Michigan, which Broghammer says already has 20 home runs. Broghammer says the Hawks want to jump out to a good start in the league race. He says the goal is to get back into the Big Ten tournament.
