Iowa QB starter clear, back up still murky

April 9, 2003 By admin

Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz says Nathan Chandler has established himself as the Hawkeyes number-one quarterrback this spring. The senior-to-be served as a back-up to Brad Banks during Iowa’s 11-2 season. He says they’re happy with Chand;er’s progress, but there’s a lot of work left to be done. Ferentz says the biggest question mark is who will emerge as Chandler’s back-up. He says right now it’s “perfectly cloudy” and he says it may remain that way for awhile.Ferentz says overall the team has made a lot of progress. He says they’re moving forward with a good attitude. He says they have some rough days, but he says there are some individuals starting to make some moves forward into spots.
