Clinton students get campaign to write troops rolling

April 14, 2003 By admin

Two Clinton High School students who started out writing to our servicemen in Kuwait are now looking for fellow students to write to more than 300 soldiers involved in the war in Iraq. Megan Owens and Carolyn Haglund began by writing to their government teacher’s nephew and Haglund says the effort has grown tremendously as it has become more pubicized. It is not an official school function but Haglund says they have been allowed to recruit other students to write letters. They’re also looking for some business support to donate paper, envelopes, postage and other support to maker the effort easier.
