Iowa QB confident he can fill some big shoes

April 14, 2003 By admin

Nathan Chandler says with each practice he feels more comfortable as Iowa’s number-one quarterback. Chandler replaces Brad Banks who finished as the Heisman Trophy runner-up after leading the Hawkeyes to a school record 11 victories. Chandler says he is trying to show he has command of the offense not only to the coaches, but his teamates as well. He is more of a classic pocket passer than Banks was but says that does not mean he lacks mobility, he says he can run when he has to.Iowa’s spring game is Saturday.
