Eastern Iowa women face charges

Two eastern Iowa women are facing federal charges for two separate crimes. A Postville woman has been charged with two counts of bank fraud. Teresa Downing is accused of making false entries in the books at Citizens State Bank in Postville to the benefit of bank customer Agriprocessors. Downing, a former employee of the bank, also allegedly devised a plan to defreaud the bank by embezzling money from the bank’s account. If convicted she faces the maximum of 30 years in prison and one million dollars in fines. Also, a woman from India has pleaded guilty to Social Security violations. 55-year-old Teresas Partridge pled guilty to a charge of using a false identification document to get a job. She used a fake social security card to get a job at MCI-Worldcom in Cedar Rapids.
