Bucks look for more punch at the plate

June 6, 2003 By admin

The Waterloo Bucks will look for more offense as they finish a Northwoods Baseball League series at home tonight against St. Cloud. The Bucks managed just six hits in a 1-0 loss Thursday night but manager Andy Haines remains confident in his team. Haines says there’s still a lot of baseball to be played, and the team that keeps getting better “is going to be the team that’s right there at the end.” Haines says he is not concerned with their early struggles. Haines says last year’s team didn’t start out well, and the guys who’re still around know things got better and better and that team ended up being a championship team.
