Ely man faces jail time for getting neighbor’s goat

June 18, 2003 By admin

An Ely man will serve jail time for getting his neighbor’s goat. Nineteen-year-old Timothy Ferguson pleaded guilty in Linn County District Court to livestock abuse and possession of marijuana. Ferguson admitted to cutting the throat of his neighbor’s goat last November. Another neighbor spotted the injured goat and contacted police. Ferguson was sentenced to one year in jail and also fined and ordered to pay over 400 dollars in veterinary bills.
