The famous “Field of Dreams Ghost Players” will open their 2003 season Sunday at the site where the movie was filmed near Dyersville. Since the corn isn’t waist-high yet, the players will gather in left field to set up their temporary diamond and play ball; many visitors are expected for the event. The Ghost Players are scheduled to play ball and entertain visitors at the movie site each final Sunday night inJune, July, August, and September. Each scheduled show is held from noon till two in the afternoon, then the players go back into the corn to await their next appearance. They formed the group the year after the movie was filmed, and have been a regular attraction ever since. The Ghost Players have played throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia for U-S military forces, and at corporate functions and major-league ballparks.
