The lawyers working for the northwest Iowa woman accused of killing her adopted son are getting the green light for more greenbacks. A judge has approved a request that allows attorneys representing a Remsen woman to be paid higher fees. Thirty-five-year-old Lisa Marie Boss is charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and child endangerment. She’s been in the Plymouth County Jail since she was charged for the death of her 10-year-old adopted son, Timothy Boss. She was arrested in December of last year. Her court-appointed attorneys say the cost of their work is nearing the 15-thousand dollar cap set by the Iowa Supreme Court. The lawyers asked for new fee cap of 30-thousand dollars to cover work on depositions and trial preparation, and a judge approved the request. Boss’s trial is set for October 21st. Her attorneys have also asked for a one-month extension of the process of reviewing evidence and potential witnesses, but a judge has not ruled on that request.
