Linn County law officers are still searching for a man who broke out of the county jail in Cedar Rapids Tuesday. 34-year-old Thomas Bridden of Cedar Rapids used 250 pound laundry cart to knock down a door at the jail and escaped. Bridden had been jailed on a charge of assault with a weapon after and incident with a knife at Palisades Park. Bridden has a history of run-ins with the law. Over the past 16 years he’s been in jail 35 times with 88 various charges filed against him. His laundry cart break out was the first successful escape from the jail since it opened in 1984.
