Sioux City voters have rejected a bid to get rid of their “city manager/city council” form of government and return to government run by commissioners. The initiative failed by a two-to-one margin. Slightly more than 11-thousand people showed up at the polls yesterday. There were 7,874 “no” votes. Three-thousand-794 voters said “yes” to the idea of changing Sioux City’s form of government. The head of the group that pushed for the change called it a labor of love, and said they “just could not fight the money.”
