Hall of Fame pitcher Whitey Ford will be in Van Meter in November for an appearance at the Bob Feller Museum in Van Meter. The former New York Yankee standout compiled the best winning percentage of any pitcher during the last century and had a streak of 33 consecutive scoreless innings in the World Series. Museum executive director Julie Bailey says he’ll be at the museum from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bailey says Ford has assured them he can sign between 165 and 175 autographs per hour. Bailey who expects similar interest to a visit by Yogi Berra which sold out. Museum members will have the first opportunity to buy tickets.
