Coe ready to open football season

After grabbing a share of the Iowa Conference title last year Coe College opens this football season against Eureka of Illinois on Saturday. Eleven starters return from last year’s team and coach Eric Raeburn says pre-season workouts have been spirited, but they’re ready for game week. Two-time Iowa Conference M-V-P running back Freddie Jackson graduated but Raeburn still expects the offense to be productive. Three teams shared the title last year and Raeburn expects another tight race as he says there’s a lot of parity among the teams.
