An old rivalry is renewed in Orange City on Saturday night as Northwestern hosts Morningside. Last week, Northwestern spoiled Briar Cliff’s varsity football debut with a 51-0 win. This is the first season for Morningside in the Great Plains Conference but Red Raiders coach Orv Otten says the Mustangs have a great deal more experience. He says they have some guys who go back to the Division Two days, so they have experience. Otten says the Morningside offense forces you to defend the entire field.While Morningside is still a newcomer to the N-A-I-A ranks this series dates make to the 1970s.Otten says they’ve always drawn great crowds to the game.Northwestern is 15th ranked nationally.
