A north central Iowa sheriff who faces a court date in December has resigned his post. After 23 years on the job, Webster County Sheriff Chuck Griggs submitted a resignation letter to the County’s Board of Supervisors. In the letter, Griggs said he was resigning for health reasons. Griggs is scheduled to go on trial in December in Fort Dodge on charges he improperly spent 10-thousand dollars of county money for food and goods not used to operate the Sheriff’s office. The Sheriff’s last day on the job will be September 30th.
