The Iowa State Cyclones close out non conference action Saturday at 22nd rated Northern Illinois. The Cyclones were idle last week and coach Dan McCarney says the time off helped the injury situation, especially for lineman Bob Montgomery who has missed the first three games.Montgomery suffered a broken foot in pre-season drills and could see action on Saturday. McCarney says he’s on track to have a great recovery and has a real chance to play. McCarney says Montgomery is their best offensive lineman. This game looks a lot tougher than it did before the season. Northern Illinois is unbeaten and already has a victory over Maryland and this past Saturday claimed a 19-16 win at Alabama. The Cyclones are 2-1 on the season.
