A third Des Moines teenager has died after a high-speed wreck in the capitol city last night, while a fourth boy is badly hurt. The crash happened on a southeast-side road that’s notorious for illegal drag racing, according to Des Moines police spokesman Sergeant Todd Dykstra. Sergeant Dykstra couldn’t say if drugs or alcohol played a role, but he says autopsies are being performed this morning. Investigators haven’t said the car that crashed was racing another, just that it was speeding. Dykstra says the car was demolished. He says the vehicle went out of control, shot off a curve and down an embankment, shearing off a civil defense siren pole and ripping the Acura in two, ejecting the three passengers. All four young men attended Des Moines Lincoln High. The passengers were: 15-year-old Nicholas Ounlokham, 15-year-old Shawn Baccam and his cousin, 14-year-old Mitchell Baccam. The only survivor is the driver,16-year-old Frankie Sylalom. He’s listed in serious condition.
