Lincoln police officer Michael Pratt talked after the service about the risks of choosing the profession he and his brother shared. He noted the number of cops there, saying it could have happened to any of them a dozen times and it’s both a reminder of how precious life is and how folks support them. An estimated 6,000 people including many law-enforcement officers from Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Colorado attended the funeral of the officer, the first cop shot in Omaha since 1995.
