Governor Tom Vilsack is in Chicago, visiting businesses today. Vilsack says he’ll visit a number of companies that have locations in Iowa to try to convince them to expand their operations here. Vilsack says whenever he talks with business leaders, they always ask about Iowa’s education system. Vilsack says he recently chatted with the C-E-O of I-B-M about Iowa’s education system, and Vilsack says he was encouraged by what’s happening here. Last night, Vilsack and his wife hosted a come-back-to-Iowa reception for former Iowans at the Chicago Cultural Center.Vilsack says he reminded the former Iowans about Iowa’s quality of life. In June, Vilsack made a similar pitch to former Iowans who live in the Washington, D-C area.
