Central and Simpson square off this week

October 2, 2003 By admin

There will be plenty on the line this weekend when Simpson and Central renew their rivalry. Simpson is off to a quick start at 3-0 while Central is 0-2 in Iowa Conference play for the first time since 1978. Simpson coach Jay Niemann says Central is just two missed field goals away from being undefeated. Nieman expects his team to face a motivated opponent that he says has a lot to prove. Niemann says because of the emotion involved in this game, the start has added importance. He says that may be more so this time as last year they started slow and couldn’t recover.
