Northwestern enters key weekend matchup unbeaten

October 9, 2003 By admin

Saturday’s matchup in Orange City between Northwestern and the University of Sioux Falls will not only feature a pair of unbeatens in the Great Plains Conference but a couple of top ten teams as well. Northwestern is 5-0 and tenth-ranked in the latest N-A-I-A top-25 while Sioux Falls is third-rated and 4-0.Northwestern coach Orv Otten says the game has always been a highlight game for both teams as they’re very close to each other and recruit a lot of the same guys. He says the Red Raiders lead the nation in passing at 350 yards a game and no interceptions.Northwestern has displayed balance on offense and has also returned interceptions and punts for touchdowns. Otten says scoring with defense or special teams is always a big lift.
