The lead in several districts are on the line during week six of the high school football season. In 3A, second-rated Chariton hosts number-seven Pella, the winner takes sole possession of the lead in district six.Chariton coach Lee Sandy says Pella is solid in all the phases of the game, and he says each week they face a tough challenge. He says Pella’s defense has played well and they’ve scored in just about every way possible. Also in 3A, the lead in district four is on the line as fourth ranked Central Dewitt hosts number-three Mount Vernon. In a district with a number of solid teams every win is big according to Central Dewitt coach Kurt Kryter. Kryter says they know what the first key to beating the Mustangs is. The trouble is pulling it off. He says they have to stop the run, and he says if they do that, they can get some yards. In class 2A the outright lead in district five is on the line as top-ranked Solon visits number-nine Center Point-Urbana. Both teams rely on power running games and Solon coach Kevin Miller says because of that field position becomes a critical element, and the play of the special teams will be important in that aspect.Solon survived a scare from Maquoketa Valley last week and Miller wants a more polished effort tonight.
