Iowa women look to get back to NCAA’s

October 15, 2003 By admin

The Iowa women’s basketball team wants to return to the N-C-A-A Tournament this season. Three starters return from last year’s youthful squad that finished with a record of 18-15. Coach Lisa Bluder says they have the potential to be a very good basketball team and they’re very flexible with people who play a variety of positions. Bluder says a strong senior class led by two-time All Big Ten choice Jennie Lillis will lead the way. Bluder says you can’t have great teams without great leadership. Bluder says the Hawkeyes should get scoring from a number of different spots on the floor. The Hawkeyes open the season at home in their own tournament on November 21st.
